Andrew has a sweet demeanor with a contagious smile and inquisitive eye ready to face the world each day. Wattler is known for his unique approach to painting, having loose and carefree brush strokes but his line work is simple and decisive. Nature and animals inspired Wattler’s early work at Blank Canvas, Wattler began by painting with watercolors, and then created several life-size paper-mâché sculptures of various animals. His largest sculpture is an 8-foot giraffe, which is currently showcased at the RHD home office in Pennsylvania. Wattler began visiting the St. Louis Art Museum in early 2015 with peers, and quickly began taking an interest in figural work, and inspired his collection of captivating series of nudes. Andrew is a passionate and persistent artist, who works consistently through his projects and enjoys unveiling the final project.
